Terms of Use

These Terms of Use cover the SnapAtlas™ website (snapatlas.app, “the Site”) and the SnapAtlas™ Photo Organizer desktop application, operated by SnapAtlas™ (“we”, “us”). SnapAtlas™ Photo Organizer is sold through the Microsoft Store and licensed under the license terms presented there; these Terms govern the Site and the optional place-name lookup service.

By using the Site or SnapAtlas™, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

The website

The Site is provided for information about SnapAtlas™ Photo Organizer. Content is provided “as is” — we work to keep it accurate but make no warranties about completeness or availability.

SnapAtlas™, briefly

  • SnapAtlas™ is licensed — not sold — for personal use on Windows, per the Microsoft Store’s standard terms.
  • SnapAtlas™ modifies files and folders on your computer only when you ask it to. Preview features (What-If mode) and staged deletion exist so you stay in control, but organizing a large library is your responsibility — keep a backup before major operations.
  • Purchases, refunds, and billing disputes are handled through the Microsoft Store or the applicable payment provider.

The lookup service

  • Place-name lookups are best effort. A returned name — a town, park, or landmark — may be wrong or imprecise, and coverage varies by location. SnapAtlas™ always lets you define your own place names, which is the right choice for places that matter most to you.
  • Lookups use prepaid credits. Credits have no cash value, are tied to your installation, are non-transferable, never expire, and are non-refundable except as required by law.
  • We may adjust how credits are priced over time. The credits per lookup may be adjusted at any time. Changes to pricing or credits per lookup will not result in changes to your credit balance.
  • If we ever discontinue the lookup service, we will provide reasonable advance notice.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Site or the lookup service — no probing or attacking the service, no automated scraping or bulk lookup harvesting, and nothing unlawful. We may suspend service access for abuse.

Intellectual property

SnapAtlas™, its logo, and site content are owned by SnapAtlas™. Don’t republish site content as your own; linking here is always welcome.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the Site or SnapAtlas™. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date; continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
