Bring in photos from everywhere

Phones, camera cards, old drives, cloud exports — fold them into one library without importing anything twice.

SnapAtlas™ checks every incoming file against your library before importing, so a photo it already has — even renamed — is skipped instead of doubled. Source files are copied, never modified or deleted.

1. Import the folder

Click Import in the toolbar and pick the folder — a drive dump, a phone export, an SD card. SnapAtlas™ copies in only the photos you don't already have, and they land in the same year / date / place structure as everything else.

Checking a large folder can take a while — every file has to be compared — and you'll see progress as it goes. What-If mode works here too, to preview an import first.

2. Register ongoing sources on the Sync tab

For a folder that keeps receiving photos — a camera card you reuse, a cloud-drive folder:

  1. Open the Sync tab.
  2. Click Add Source and pick the folder.
  3. Click Sync to pull in new photos now — or Sync All to check every source.

Registered sources stay on the tab, so next time you just press Sync All. The Sync tab has its own What-If toggle too, so you can preview what a sync would bring in first.

3. Read the report

After a run, the report shows what came in, what was skipped as already-in-your-library, and what was flagged as similar. If a file can't be checked for some reason, it's copied anyway — losing a photo is never the outcome.

The overlapping-backup problem

Rescued photos from a failing drive and dumped them next to your existing library? That's exactly how duplicate sprawl happens — and exactly what the file check prevents. Nothing new is missed, nothing existing is doubled.

Once everything's in one place, organize it and clean up the duplicates that were already inside.
